Beads from Kangaroo Island

Well - I just HAD to do it.......... I created another blog....... why? I just felt that the name of this blog was quite a mouthful and I wanted to have one which was more in line with my line and website........ so here it is..........

My Studio Blog

I wanted a space which would be more for an update of the beads and other pieces I make here on Kangaroo Island and I will keep this blog for other news, vents etc.........

Had a bit of time out in the caravan tonight but I guess I must be tired because I kept dropping glass rods and had trouble even trying to get the CZ in a bead. Didn't sleep too well last night because bf is not well - he has some sort of a cold and he's even worse off today............. hopefully I won't catch it !!!

I knew he was in trouble when he said he was feeling cold yesterday while we were at the workshop - and he was sitting pretty close to the fireplace most of the day!!!!!!

Trying for an earlyish night tonight and hopefully I will sleep better.

Back on the rock !!!!!!!

Well........ we are back from Adelaide and it has been a bit of everything !!!!!!

Some shopping, lots of family time and lots of food and beer.......... !!!

Good to be home, am exhausted for now and ots to catch up on........ got myself some (more)books on wire working AND of course how to get my site going...... not to get reading and practising.........

One step closer........

Well - I got brave last night and downloaded the apache server......... now to work out the scripts and see how I go.......

Got to pack and get ready for Adelaide, we'll be away over the weekend so won't be able to do any experiments til we get back next week - stay tuned....

Still looking.......... for that elusive script.......

Well - it's bed time and i am STILL trying to find the answers to php and blah blah blah.........

No luck tonight, am exhausted and my eyesight probably won't improve with these hours in front of the computer screen..... so time to log off and tuck myself under some nice warm sheets........

Lots of things.........

Well - this is day 2 of two days off work and it has been a busy and productive couple of days !!!

Trying to set up a shopping cart and it is looking like I am well out of my depth here but I guess I'll have to keep on reading and trying to see how to go about it because I HAVE to.......... and I can't afford to have someone do it for me.......

Got a new lot of stock out to Granny Stirling's in Penneshaw today and will have to work on a selection for the information center at Penneshaw. It will have to be diffeent from the items I have at Granny's even though I think the clientele is different but we'll see. Targeting to have it in there by end June.

On the way home from Penneshaw - I had an annoying tailgater behind me virtually from the exit of Penneshaw until after the airport turnoff - only because I pulled over to let him go by because I had missed the turn off and was on my way in to Kingscote before I realised it...... it was annoying, he was too close for comfort and with the drizzly rain, windscreen wipers going and trying to concentrate on the road and him in the rear vision mirror... aaaaaarrrggghhhh !!!

Anyway - since I was already so far past the turn off, I decided to go in to Kingscote and check the Post Office, drop in at the Vet and see if I could get some seafood for dinner.

At the Post Office - there was a parcel full of lovely sparklies from the last group buy waiting for me and they are really lovely - can't wait to play with them, got some coloured wire on order which will go really well with them...

On the way home, I stopped at the Vet's to see if they could give me anymore info on how to deal with Champs' (my cat) flea problem....... poor darling is still in so much discomfort and I am getting bitten too !!! No easy solution here - he WILL have to have the flea baths once a wekk and hopefully with that and having his monthly flea repellant treatment, we will get him out of it in a couple of months. Apparently it is something we will have to put up with for as long as there are probably fleas out in the sand/dirt around the house - they will jump on him when he goes out for his toilet stops.......

So - he had a bath this afternoon when I got home, he WAS NOT happy about it but we got through it and he spent a couple of hours "cleaning" himself again with his tongue and avoididn "naughty mummy"...... but he doesn't seem to be scratching as much, so hopefully it has given him some relief for a few days.......

Apart from that - nothing more for the moment, but I am going to make a conscious effort to keep this blog going........

Month of May !!!!

Yikes !!! It is already May !!!!

Today was spent at a workshop on how to design websites and supposedly setting up an online shopping cart......... in a way it was good, seeing as it is the first "in person" web design "lesson" I have attended - all the stuff I have learnt has been online.........

There were a few good pointers and refreshers on points I had sort of forgotten with everything else happening in this last period......

Disappointing about the main scope for my attending the workshop - it didn't give any solutions and very little information of relevance to setting up an online shopping cart........ but apparently that was because the presenter felt that the attendees weren't "ready for it" because he couldn't find any websites owned by the participants which showed the skill/knowledge level for that direction.....

Not sure what others thought, most people were really beginners to web presence and e-commerce - but I think they took away some good info and I hope that the next session will be more fruitful.

So - back to the drawing board and after I get some more jewellery made up for a couple of places, I'd better knuckle down and get the sites updated.
